Simple words from my heart

You expect me to live my life,
When I can hardly breathe....

You expect me to lead the way,
When I needed you to walk with me...

You expect me light up the path,
When no one else holds the torch...

You expect me to sing your song,
When I am lost for words...

Expectations are assumptions,
Assumptions doesn't spell the truth...

However you can expect me to try...
Like I always have...trying hard to make you smile....

The Signature Restaurant~

~My Signature Restaurant~
May and I decided to try out the food in this restaurant as we pass it almost everyday but never seemed to get the time to stop by and check it out...and so...we FINALLY did!

LOCATION
Along the road besides the side entrance to Sunwayn University College
(Around the car workshops, the same row as Emo Bookshop)

The Restaurant Outlook
At first just by looking from the outside, I thought that it was a Japanese restaurant...apparently I was wrong, hehh~~
It was a "Fusion Restaurant" -well...thats what the signboard says -____-
The restaurant was set up in a rather simple yet comfy setting. Clean cut wooden tables were accompanied by dark purple cushion stools. The relatively dark colours blends with the whole "home like" ambiance.

However, the high ceiling is revealed as too plain towards the kitchen which created a slight "out of the place" feeling to the already well set front decor.

I GIVE 6 out of 10 for Decor
The Food
There were a lot of choices offered in the menu. You can find specially fusion food as well as all time favourite western and asian food. The restaurant also caters for vegetarian diners [A +Plus+ for you!!] =)

I decided to order the Chicken Chop Fried Rice
while May ordered the Yong-Chow Fried Rice.
The portion was alright and the taste was pleasing as well.

Chicken Chop Fried Rice
Yong Chow Fried Rice

I GIVE a 6 out of 10 for FOOD

OVERALL
The Signature Restaurant would be a nice chill out place for lunch with friends if you are looking for a comfortable place to hang and avoid crowded food destinations.

I GIVE The Signature Restaurant a 6.5 out of 10

**Another plus point~~ They have 5% rebate when you show them your student card upon payment...niceee~~~

Merdeka Sudah~~

Its 31st August 2010!!!
Yes citizens of Malaysia, its that time of the year again...MERDEKA day!

In my opinion, being unified is more important than freedom. Therefore personally I rather call it National Day =)

Anyway, lets see how patriotic we are...ask yourselves these few questions:

1. Where were you during Merdeka eve and Merdeka Day?

2. Did you have a flag (at least a small tiny one) stuck onto your car?

3. Did you wish any of your friends Happy Merdeka?

4. Were you excited to watch the Merdeka parades and fireworks?

If you find yourself going "err..." to most of the questions above...then its time to ask yourself another question

***Have we achieved true independence?***

Are we motivated because we are independent or because we know that hypocrisy is the key to survive in this country?

Reflect...reflect...I'm not trying to imply anything here...=)

HAPPY NATIONAL DAY MALAYSIA ;)

Well...I guess maybe there are just so many people who loves Malaysia and thats why we cramp along the road.

SMILE FOR BEING A MALAYSIAN!!! =)

Indirect Translation of 16th Sept 2010

Sept 16 2010 diumumkan sebagai cuti umum
16th Sept is now a public holiday starting 2010
HARI MALAYSIA!!!

Let us ponder and read between the lines...
*Ps* Its a personal reflection, feel free to accept or reject =)

Literal Translation
Malaysia's Prime Minister announced that the official calendar will include another public holiday which is Malaysia Day to be held on September 16 each year starting 2010
Indirect translation
Malaysia's Prime Minister announced that officially Sabah and Sarawak will be included into the National plans starting 2010.

Literal Translation
“We want the joy and sorrows of the people in Sabah and Sarawak to be felt by the people in the Peninsula,” he said.
Indirect Translation
"We want Peninsula to know that Sabah and Sarawak are similar in terms of joy and sorrow, because they are actually Malaysians, sometimes we just forget," he said.

Literal Translation
“Therefore, I would like to announce to the people of Malaysia that the Cabinet has recently made the decision to celebrate Hari Malaysia on Sept 16 starting 2010.”
Indirect Translation
"Therefore, the cabinet has realised that the Sabahan and Sarawakian votes do make a huge difference during elections."

Literal Translation
"Malaysia Day would be celebrated with events that would foster closer unity, understanding between the different races and community success and achievement through sports, social culture and arts, to spur the 1Malaysia spirit”
Indirect Translation
"We would produce more Malaysian songs for tourism and catchy slogans to encourage Malaysians to love each other because it is the best way to make Malaysians feel united."

Conclusion....
There is no conclusion but there is a reason to reflect. For someone who truly loves Malaysia, this is not meant to criticize the nation...but merely to strip the words and capture what really matters...our feelings as a citizen of Malaysia.
